The Power of Fun
Published on: August 9, 2017

Laughter is fun! Especially listening to the laughter of little children as they play or talk about their stinky feet. It makes grandparents hearts full to see their grandchildren roll hysterically on the floor over something silly. If only we could do that. Oh wait, we can. Maybe not roll on the floor part depending on how your knees are. 🙂 Make the conscious effort to put one foot in front of the other and smile. If you don’t feel like smiling, you do it, your emotions will follow and you will feel more upbeat. The people around you will feel better and smile in return. You will create an upbeat, positive atmosphere.

Don’t be afraid to be silly. Kids love being surprised, play hide and seek. Jump out and scare them and they will have squeals and giggles. We play Go Fish and Candy Land. Kids also love to win. Sometimes I stack the deck so Anthony can win just so I can see him pump his little fist and do a victory dance at three years of age.

Dance or sing with them. Make crafts and color. Kids love the attention when you’re on their level being an artist as well.Their imagination is stirred and stimulated with creativity. We have a big white marker board, our grandkids love to draw or write and play school there.

Playing, games, and laughter helps developmental learning and life skills with a young one. We took Anthony to counseling after his daddy died to make sure we didn’t miss anything. The counselor evaluated him with play therapy. They can read a lot into how a child plays.

This journey of life is smoother and more enjoyable when accompanied with pleasant travelers. So, be full of fun, joy, silliness, freedom and  giggles. Powerful fun will follow for you and your loved ones with a positive outcome in your and your kids lives..

Enjoy the journey!  Debbie
