A New Era
The summer has gone fast! Don’t regret how the days fly by, remember each one is an opportunity to impact the lives of those around you, especially the young ones. There is a sense of anticipation in the air as the kids go back to school. The end of an era and the beginning of a whol
e new adventure. Their excitement is contagious. Embrace the enthusiasm each step in the journey.
As parents or grandparents our lives are filled with the challenges and duties of the precious young ones we are committed to. The kids consume our time, but they also consume our loneliness and give us purpose in life. We get life and love in the bargain, how thrilling is that.
I can’t wait to start my own adventure. It might sound lame to some, but if it’s fantastic or fun for me, that’s what matters.
1) Coffee with a friend. Chat and catch up our lives. We all need connections and support from friends and family.
2) Clean house. To organize the clutter brings calm in the chaos. There is a sense of accomplishment as we find a path in the living room that wasn’t there before.
3) Checkbook gets balanced. This restores financial and emotional well being.
4) Connect with God. His mercies are new every morning, Great is His faithfulness. It’s refreshing and restoring to meditate while you swing outside in the warm air.
As we go on our adventure, it enables us to partake of the joy of those around us who are embracing their journey. Anthony, my grandson, starts kindergarten tomorrow. This is a landmark step of healing and growth for the wounded toddler we got many years ago. It’s amazing and a privilege to play a small part in him becoming the man God has destined him to be.
