Deflect the Doubts

We experienced a miracle! My husband Sam, had respiratory failure with Covid Pneumonia. He was released from the hospital Dec. 28th without even a need for oxygen. Many, including his doctors could not believe it. God turned it around. I talked to several people who survived this and they said it takes many months to recover. I believe God touched him, but he still had labored breathing if he even walked to the next room, but this eased with rest and his oxygen saturation did not drop.
Deceit
I talked about Paul’s shipwreck in Acts 27 recently and how God assured me we would survive without a scratch or splinter. I say we because I was devastated by the thought of losing him. After they reached land Paul was bitten by a snake. I wondered how this fit in our story? I finally saw it. As I watched Sam struggle to breath, it was as if the snake wrapped around his arm and bit him. Paul shook the snake off into the fire and survived. Sam shook the snake off into the fire and we watched it sizzle. The poison of the enemy will do no harm to him. We are promised healing and provision. We believe God’s promises, not the lies of the enemy. Recovery may take time, but recover we will.
Doubt
How do you have confidence when you are consumed with concern about an issue? It’s easy to feel fear if things go down a scary, uncertain path. Whether it’s death, despair, depression or darkness of any kind, you can have faith that there will be resolution, recovery and restoration. This is not just fantasy or wishing, it’s reality. If doubts come, which I had at times, I deflect them with the shield of faith. (Ephesians 6:16.) My shield has the fluid face of a lion, there are many colors with shifting shape as He roars. This lion whose name is Jesus, devours whatever comes against me, be it doubt, darkness, despair or death.
Deliverance
Faith and hope rise up. overcoming the fears and doubts. I feel snuggled in a place of serenity, safety and security. A place where the promises of God can be realized. The promise of help through sickness, sorrow or sadness. A glorious place to be. “ The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.” Psalm 18: 2-3 (NIV)
Here are 3 ways you can defeat your doubts and live in confidence and peace.
- Determine to make the choice to defeat the doubt. Focus on the positive and you can develop new positive pathways for your thoughts.
- Take care of yourself physically, get rest and eat right. When you are physically fit, it’s easier to flow in peace, not anxiety, fear or doubt.
- Remember God’s miracles and manifestations from the past and how he does not leave you. Connect with Him now, read His Word and seek His face, He will embrace you as He reveals Himself to you and meets your needs.
Sam is active and pushes himself. His Dr. told him having a positive attitude will improve his chances of recovery. Therefore, he thinks and voices positivity and he is positive about recovery. So our story continues. We will tell of God’s faithfulness as we come and dwell in the kingdom realm, even while on this Earth. What an awesome journey we are on as Jesus accompanies us, no matter what twists or turns we encounter. We are believing for full restoration, no doubts about it!
Love, Debbie
