You Can Move To More Energy

You may be overwhelmed with what you have to do and find you have no energy. Instead of focusing on the lethargy, decide to speak life and energy into yourself.

Finding new energy is not a magic wand or a twitch of the nose, the magic is in your mind for that is where your thoughts and focus come from. If you say I’m tired, or I can’t do it, your focus is on the negative and that is what you are calling into being. Where you focus is what you believe and what you receive as truth.

I worked in ICU, a high stress job, and I had M.S. with physical limitations. I remember crying “I’m so tired, I don’t know how long I can do this.” Then I realized, the more I said I’m tired, the more I believed it and the more tired I became. I made a decision to say something positive instead and to move my muscles until that movement was a natural part of me and I didn’t have to think about not having energy. When someone asked me how I was, even if I was on the verge of collapse, I would say “I’m good.” This was not a lie, but a declaration that I believe I am good and I’m loved by a good God. It was a process that moved my mood and my mountain to a place of victory that released energy and healing. I still have the energy to do nursing and to do it well.

Make your mind up to do your part, to move your mood to a place of success. Let’s talk about ways you can move that will make this possible and release energy that you didn’t know you had. There are seven M words that will move you to excellent energy:

1 – Move In Moderation

Overindulgence can be overwhelming, creating clutter or chaos. Like a hoarder, you may hoard inadequacies or inferiorities that create an identity crisis. Clear your clutter one piece at a time and before you know it there is a path paved where clutter and chaos clung.  Now you can see your identity clearly. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called sons of God, and that is what we are” (1 John 3:1). To know who and whose you are is thrilling and hopeful, releasing new energy and enthusiasm.

2 – Move Your Mouth

What you say can wield great power, to uplift and create energy or tear down. Be conscious of the words that move out of your mouth for they move mountains. Choose them wisely for they create life and energy. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. “(Psalm 19:14).

3 -Move Your Mind

Your mind is where the battle begins, the battle against fatigue, depression, inadequacy, worthlessness, and for renewed energy. What your mind focuses on will become reality to you. So change your focus to having new energy. Determine to be more positive and productive, decide what your passion and purpose is and pursue it. As you make this effort the pathways in your brain literally change and you will find you are able to accomplish this and more! Instead of saying I have no energy or I’m stupid, let your reality be “I have energy to do this”, or “I am very smart” and these declarations will define you.

4 – Move Your Muscles

I won’t say the E word (exercise) or you might tune me out. If you don’t move your muscles you get atrophy with negative outcomes such as increase in cardiovascular disease or premature death. When my husband Sam had Covid in December of 2021, he was battling for his life as he lay in bed for weeks. There was muscle wasting and he had to do therapy to get his strength and energy back. But he did it, he received a miracle healing and he was determined to do his part.

Moving little bits at a time can make a difference. “Just a few minutes of movement at a time has incredible health benefits. Small activities have big long-term effects on your metabolism, your muscle tone and your heart health. So get moving!” (“Your Health” magazine article by Gundry MD, pg 24). Small motions you make like standing when you take a phone call or taking the stairs instead of the elevator make big changes in your body’s ability to store and recall energy.

5 – Move In Minutes

You may look at a task and feel overwhelmed or unable to accomplish it. The yard work is a tangled mess of old leaves and dead flowers. Put one foot in front of the other for 15 minutes and see what you can do. You will be surprised at how much better things look and how much better you feel about it. Moments become minutes and minutes become hours as you take the initiative to start the chore and when you are propelled to press on you find energy to finish the task. You can do anything for 15 minutes.

6 – Move What You Can

If you can’t move much because you have limitations, move what you can. You can move your mood or your mountain so you are a blessing. Become better not bitter. Make the best of a bad situation. Deciding to move your thoughts to a place of calm and peace will actually change the wiring in your brain and create energy and life. (See Dr Caroline Leaf’s book “Switch On Your Brain”).

7 – Move Your Meal Habits

Eating light and right will increase health and energy. Eating the colors of the rainbow gives high antioxidants to fight chronic illness and cancer. Not artificial colors because they  have no nutritional value.

Let your outlook be outstanding as you move the mountain that is blocking your view, your victory or your energy. Don’t focus on fears or difficulties, you have a conquering King on your side that will never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Embrace a mindset with Jesus and you will have victory and vitality!
