In a YouTube talk by Warren Buffett he discusses prosperity (imagine that) and how delight will bring success and satisfaction. If you delight the client with care and kindness they will return and you will both have success and prosperity. Mr. Buffett said “Don’t just satisfy your customers, delight your customers.” (See “Warren Buffett Leaves The Audience Speechless” Nov 2, 2017. ) lf you have hard work, and determination you will succeed which brings delight to both parties. However, if you are rude and selfish to someone they won’t return or establish a relationship. Delight should constantly exude from the atmosphere around you. It will result in joy, happiness and prosperity in your life and others. Here’s five ways that will cause you to make success and delight your destination.
The book of Psalms begins with instruction on how to be blessed, stand firm, bear fruit, be prosperous and successful. Not only that, your leaf will not wither. (That’s great news for everybody, especially women who might be getting wrinkles!) “Blessed is the man…his delight is in the law of the Lord: and in his law doth he meditate day and night” (Psalm 1:1a-2 KJV ). Meditate on His Word and focus on Jesus and the result is tremendous blessing, love and delight!
The power of Jesus was incredible. People would just touch His prayer shawl and they would be healed (Matthew 14: 34-36). Because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection, when you trust Him as Savior, you have His power living in you for now and all eternity. What joy and delight!
2) Physical Wellness
Laughter brings delight and releases feel good chemicals that will bring medical benefits. “The Science Of Laughter” by Time Magazine (page 6) says, “Recent research has lauded laughter as a remedy for arthritis, backache, Alzheimer’s, itching, allergies, heart disease, muscle cramping, of course, stress.” Watch a silly sitcom, a comedy or spend time with children who giggle which is contagious. This brings laughter and delight.
It’s not right to laugh in tragedy, but it’s right to have peace in any situation. And there is delight in peace. Like taking a deep breath when you’ve been crying so hard you can’t get your next breath, which I did when my son died. Peace was a process, but peace in Jesus reigned. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1 NIV). Love and peace for now and always no matter what, that is the most delightful!
When my husband was critical with Covid, the Doctor told him he wanted positivity out of him, because people with positivity have a better chance of walking out of the hospital. (Which he did by the way.) When you choose joy, gratitude and delight it’s like planting a seed. You get what you sow. Sow negative attitudes such as anger, bitterness and unforgiveness and you will become what you sow. Therefore choose positive, such as joy, love, kindness and forgiveness, so you will positively have positive results physically, mentally, spiritually then health and delight will manifest.
Prosperity results from success. What if despite goals and hard work you achieve mediocrity? What is mediocrity anyway? It varies with the individual. The champion in the special olympics has a different capability than the Olympic Gold winner. If you accomplish something doing the best you can that is success. Even if you have health issues, do your best to press in to health and you will prosper at whatever level you achieve. In the movie “Overcomer.” a teen girl struggled with health and emotional problems. She became a Christian and her family was restored. She became a champion track star despite Asthma. She delighted in God and He delighted in her. She achieved success despite her hinderances.
I wrote my book The Summer Of Paintless Toenails after my son died and while it wasn’t a New York Times bestseller, it was a success. It was a delight to give copies away and see how the Lord touched people’s lives, bringing them hope and delight.
Deciding to live in delight is delightful to you and those around you. Don’t be rude for that hinders any relationship. To care about customers and community will elicit prosperity, success and delight!
